Holly McMahon is a multi-faceted composer, performer, and collaborator based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Throughout her life, she has worked with countless artists across several mediums, including film, theater, dance, and performance art. Notable collaborations include Bigfoot Steps on Boulder performed by Boulder Symphony and ballets including To Climb a Mountain, commissioned by Front Range Classical Ballet Academy in Fort Collins, Colorado. She recently graduated from The University of Colorado, Boulder with a degree in Composition and a certificate in Music Technology, and is pursuing a Masters Degree in Composition at the University of Michigan. While she is known for her works for solo piano, McMahon is also thoroughly enjoys for absurdist works, which provide unconventional representations of ordinary occurrences. Her compositional style, quite accurately, has been described as atmospheric, energetic, and quirky. Through her work as an artist, McMahon seeks to contribute to experiences which are compassionate and embodied, reminding listeners how beautiful, absurd, and vulnerable it is to be a human engaging with art.
