Suite for Wind Band

Commissioned by The CU Boulder Symphonic Band, conducted by Logan Sorey, Suite for Wind Band includes three movements, each with its own distinct character and sound world. The first movement, Heckled, paints a circus-like picture involving an obnoxious trumpet and a teasing flute which spirals into organized chaos. The second, Grand Waltz, elaborates on the theme of juxtaposition by contrasting a dark grand waltz style with something much more twinkly and light. The last movement, Whenever Your Ready, concludes the set with a heartfelt melody that gently develops until the piece is concluded.
